Key Tax Dates for March 2026: Stay Compliant & Calm

March often marks the busiest stretch of tax season. For our service-based clients, this is the time to ensure your personal documentation is organized so we can finalize your returns with clarity and precision. Here are the critical dates to mark on your calendar for March 2026.

March 10 - Employee Tip Reporting

If you work in a service industry and received over $20 in tips during February, compliance is key. You must report these tips to your employer using IRS Form 4070 by March 10. Your statement needs to include:

  • Your signature, name, and address
  • Your Social Security number
  • Employer’s name and address
  • The specific period covered and total tips received

For our business owner clients: Ensure your payroll systems are ready to withhold the necessary FICA and income taxes based on these reports. Uncollected withholding will be reported in box 8 of the W-2.

March 16 - The One-Month Warning

Since March 15 falls on a Sunday this year, Monday, March 16 marks exactly one month until the individual income tax filing deadline. If you haven't scheduled your review or uploaded your documents to our portal, now is the time.
